NEWTON APPOINTED TO ST. JAMES'S PLACE RANGE OF FUNDS

Newton Investment Management Limited, a UK asset management subsidiary of Mellon Financial Corporation, has been appointed to manage approximately £450 million of global equity assets for St. James's Place Group.
In conjunction with independent consultants Stamford Associates, the investment committee of St. James's Place Group undertook a wide-ranging review and has contracted out the management of three of its funds to Newton Investment Management.
Paul Butler, Investment Leader, Global Equities at Newton and manager of the Newton International Growth Fund, will manage three funds incorporated in the UK and offshore.
Commenting on the news, Helena Morrissey, Chief Executive Officer at Newton Investment Management, said, :"St. James's Place has been providing a service to high net worth individuals since 1992 and we are thrilled to have passed the stringent selection criteria in order to manage this fund."
