We held our annual investment conference in November 2009 at The Landmark Hotel in London on the theme of 'Securing the future'.

At the conference we reflected upon the events of the last two years, as we believe that it is timely to consider the lessons that can be learned from the economic and financial-market turmoil that we have witnessed and to review the approaches that investors should take to secure their futures most successfully. We covered the performance of our various strategies, with an emphasis upon the importance of managing portfolio risk as well as seeking returns. We also explained how we are using our evolving investment themes to understand how the world is changing and the opportunities presented as a result.
